This policy describes how the Jarnac game, published by Lourenço ARNASALON, handles player data. It applies to the iOS and Android mobile apps and to the desktop builds (macOS, Windows).
Jarnac is published by Lourenço ARNASALON. For any question about this policy, about your personal data, or to exercise your rights, you can contact us at any time at:
We have deliberately kept data collection to the strict minimum needed for the game to work. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location.
| Data type | Purpose | Shared with third parties |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifier (hashed) | Player identity, saving your progress | No |
| Nickname and avatar | Display inside the game, visible to other players | No |
| Match history, ELO rating | Leaderboards, matchmaking, statistics | No |
| Technical and crash reports | Bug fixing, stability improvements | No |
| Advertising identifiers and signals | Serving ads (free Android version only) | Yes - ad network |
To avoid accounts, passwords, and email addresses entirely, Jarnac relies on a hardware identifier provided by your device. That identifier is immediately hashed on the server - we never store the raw value, and the resulting hash cannot be reversed into a piece of information that identifies you outside the game.
Your nickname and avatar are visible to your opponents in the lobby and during a match. Both are chosen freely by you. A server-side filter blocks offensive nicknames. The lobby has a global chat where every connected player can post publicly; chat messages are filtered as well. The game has no private messaging between players.
The free Android version shows advertising served by a third-party ad network. That network may read or write an advertising identifier provided by your device to select which ads to show. You can reset or opt out of this identifier at any time in your phone's settings (Privacy → Ads). The paid iOS, macOS and Windows versions contain no advertising.
Data is stored on a server hosted in Europe, protected by standard safeguards (firewall, restricted access). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection, but we follow industry-standard practices.
Player data is retained as long as the account (i.e. the associated device hash) remains active. An account with no activity for more than 24 consecutive months may be deleted automatically. Technical logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent frameworks (including the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, and port your data.
To exercise any of these rights - in particular deletion of your profile - send an email to support@jarnacgame.com including your in-game nickname. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to file a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Jarnac is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us at support@jarnacgame.com and we will delete the data in question.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect technical or legal changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be announced in-game or via a notice at jarnacgame.com.
